City of Elk Grove

Issues and Interests Statement

 

The City of Elk Grove incorporated on July 1, 2000.  The City of Elk Grove is currently preparing its first General Plan as required by State Law.  Additional Issues and interests may be identified during the process of adopting the General Plan and those described below may be modified.

Water is provided in the City of Elk Grove by the Sacramento County Water Agency and Elk Grove Water Works / Florin Resource Conservation District.  Consequently, the City of Elk Grove is participating in the Ground Water Forum as a political entity.  The City of Elk Grove is not a signatory to the Water Forum Agreement.

•   The City of Elk Grove is interested in ensuring that a safe and reliable water source and service is provided to its residents and businesses. 
• The City of Elk Grove is interested in maintaining and improving a regional approach and cooperative effort to ensure the long term supply of water to meet its growth demands.
• The City of Elk Grove may be interested in the future at exploring opportunities to provide water services within its corporate boundaries and anticipated sphere of influence.
